Air Amerika Will Shut Down

Air America will shut down because the radio can not find investor. Air America was owned by Mark Green and his brother Steven. The radio broadcaster that famously employed noted liberal commentators like Randi Rhodes and now-Senator Al Franken, as well as formerly under-the-radar talents like Rachel Maddow, is calling it quits.
On its Web site, the company announced "with the greatest regret" that it is "ceasing its live programming operations" and declaring Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The announcement cites the challenging economic climate, specifically the difficult advertising environment.

"Encore programming" content will be provided to affiliates through Monday, Jan 25, ending at 9 p.m. EST.
The company, putting its money where it's multiple mouths usually were, has confirmed that "all current employees will be paid through today, January 21," and, further, "a severance package will be offered tomorrow to full-time current employee
